Hello!
First off, I'm sorry if you have been checking back here for updates. We have had a wonderful first month and a half of school. Your children have been working hard and learning so much!
We have been working on long multiplication and long division. If you have watched your children as they do their homework, you will notice that they have been using some strategies that are very different than what you may be used to seeing. I wanted to post some videos with tips on how to use the strategies that we have learned so that you will be able to support your children as they do their homework.
Please try to understand our strategies and help them use them the way I have taught. I know that the traditional algorithm seems easier, but the strategies that I have taught are more appropriate for students' development and do make sense to them.
Enjoy!
Ms. Droege
